From product design to manufacturing, distribution and regulatory support, Cintron Medical provides either complete solutions or individual functions to supplement your internal medical product capabilities. We work with our partners to develop custom strategies, yet have the flexibility to respond quickly to changes in your business needs.

Our focus is to provide a single source package of medical device design, manufacturing and regulatory support services. We also provide front end services, such as design assistance, prototyping, process development and clinical trial builds. For many of our customers we source, purchase, receive, inspect and stock components.

General Electrosurgical System (ESU)

An international medical products company hired Cintron to manufacture an electrosurgical generator used in general surgery applications. This technology, which was previously developed by Cintron’s engineers, was recently acquired by this company from another firm. Cintron successfully transferred the technology to its ISO 13485 manufacturing facility, and provided regulatory/quality support for this product.

Vessel Sealing Generator

A large medical device firm hired Cintron to evaluate a vessel sealing system it had recently acquired from another company. Cintron identified several areas within the product software that could improve the overall safety of the device. Cintron reworked the software, performed testing from the software unit level up to system validation, and produced all required quality documentation. The project was completed three months ahead of schedule and under budget.

MammoTest Flx Breast Biopsy System
MammoTest Flx Breast Biopsy System

The MammoTest Flx Breast Biopsy System is a large capital equipment medical system that incorporates x-ray imaging and advanced targeting to conduct minimally invasive biopsies on potentially malignant growths within the breast. Cintron manufactures this product line and conducts various sustaining activities for the product. Some past projects include an upgraded IGBT-based 10kW inverter x-ray subsystem, and the addition of DICOM Worklist capability to the primary control software of the system.

High Precision ESU

A unique plasma knife electrosurgical technology was developed by an emerging market medical device firm. This novel technology enables a surgeon to make high-precision incisions with superior bleeding control and minimal thermal damage to allow for superior healing. Cintron was responsible for developing the power electronics for the system, in particular the proprietary technology that enables the plasma knife feature. Cintron also developed the control firmware used to drive the power electronics to create the electrosurgical waveforms of the device.

High Voltage Pulse System

The emerging technologies group of a large medical products company contracted Cintron to develop a unique pulse system for electro-poration applications. Cintron successfully completed an R & D prototype used to conduct animal studies. The system is under consideration as the basis for a potential commercial product line. The development of this technology is ongoing at Cintron.

Infrared LED Therapy
LED Therapy

An emerging market company implemented a technology based on low power infrared LEDs used to promote healing and reduced inflammation on localized soft tissue such as muscle. This has shown many uses in sports medicine and orthopedic applications. Cintron was responsible for developing the electronics for the commercial device.

 

Vital Cough Assist An early stage respiratory products firm came to Cintron to develop a next generation cough assist device. This device is used on patients unable to cough or produce strong enough coughs to effectively dislodge phlegm and other unwanted secretions in the lungs. Cintron provided a full turnkey solution, from development to manufacturing. Cintron also provided an attractive financial solution to the client, allowing the client to defer development costs that would be recouped through manufactured product to be purchased by the client over time.
